At Wellington, our Outreach Committee is constantly reaching out to the wider world and looking for ways to partner with organizations who are working to build the beloved kin-dom where all people are loved and honored as siblings in the family of God.

During our years at 615 W. Wellington, in addition to gathering for worship & faith formation, we used our building as a place to serve dinner to the hungry, shelter the homeless, offer sanctuary to undocumented immigrants, create safe spaces for queer youth, and celebrate the arts. We also installed solar panels on our roof (click here to learn more) as part of our care for the environment! To us, these are all forms of worship.

Part of the decision to sell our building at 615 W. Wellington was motivated by a desire to use our resources in a more faithful fashion. Since the sale of our building in September of 2020, we have been able to provide financial support to over 85 organizations doing the hands-on work of building the beloved community.

The Outreach Committee currently focuses on four areas: hunger, homelessness, environmental justice, and racial justice. Our Immigrant Justice Task Force, nested under the Outreach Committee, directs our work for justice for our siblings who come to this country seeking safety and refuge.

Working with our partner organizations, we engage in programs serving the wider community. In addition to our hands-on involvement in community programs, we also provide financial support to organizations doing work in these areas.
