Mark is an adoptee, artist, and art teacher. He attended Layton School of Art and Design and The Art Academy of Cincinnati; graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Art. After college, he started his career in Advertising, contributing his skills for over 40 years in this Sales Promotion field as an art director and senior art Director. Mark then retired to teach and to spend more free time doing artistic activities. Currently, he is a freelance Graphic Marketing Artist, and teaches drawing at Chicago schools in an after school program. He also has private students, who are young and old alike! “Anyone can learn to draw!”, as he likes to say. Mark is grateful to have found Wellington UCC, and the opportunity to use his artistic talents there, contributing to program artwork, logos and more. What he sees at Wellington, are lots of adoption stories–as this church community sees a need and/or an injustice and “adopts” a cause by doing what it takes to effect change!
