Ann-Louise Haak was called as the pastor of Wellington Avenue UCC effective June 1, 2020. She believes that great things lie ahead for this committed community of faith, and embraces this call with joy and excitement as Wellington embarks on a new chapter and turns its focus towards the future.
Fun facts to know about Ann-Louise: She and her partner, Dr. Shelby Hatch, have lived in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago for over 20 years. Together they have raised (are raising?) two sons, who are now young adults. Ann-Louise holds degrees from Grinnell College (B.A.) and Chicago Theological Seminary (M.Div.); both of those institutions have shaped her in myriad ways. She is an ordained American Baptist minister, and has served Lake Street Church in Evanston as their Associate Minister, and First Slice Pie Cafe as their Executive Director. She has more hobbies than she has time for, and would love to talk to you about knitting, gardening, biking, racial justice and white privilege, baking, mixology, and of course, the Divine.
