Rev. Craig B. Mousin

Wellington’s ministry on immigrants and refugees allows Rev. Mousin to weave the value of welcoming the stranger with a real-world practice asserting legal remedies to those fleeing persecution. In 1984 he founded and directed the Midwest Immigrant Rights Center; an organization providing legal assistance to refugees which is now the National Immigrant Justice Center.

Rev. Mousin is adept in education and law. At Chicago’s DePaul University, he served as the University Ombudsperson from 2001 to 2023. He has taught at DePaul’s College of Law faculty since 1990, and at DePaul’s Grace School for Applied Diplomacy since 2020. He has taught courses on the Bible and immigration law at Chicago Theological Seminary, and is a Life Trustee of the Chicago Theological Seminary. He received his B.S. cum laude from Johns Hopkins University, his J.D. with honors from the University of Illinois, and his M. Div. from Chicago Theological Seminary.

He was ordained by the United Church of Christ in 1989 and has served as Associate Pastor at Wellington UCC for over 30 years.
