We have a fifth Sunday this month, so our special service this week will be a mix of readings, music, and time for reflection. Make sure you have a journal or some paper at hand when you tune in – we’ll be inviting you to doodle, draw, or make notes during our meditation!

Sunday, October 6th is World Communion Sunday –
and to celebrate, we will again be joining with the congregations of Chicago Community Mennonite Church and First Church of the Brethren in a joint worship service.
We will see you ONSITE or ONLINE at 10:30am!

SPECIAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING – SUNDAY, OCT. 13TH AFTER THE SERVICE

The Outreach Committee and the Immigrant Justice Task Force have allocated the last of their appropriations for 2024 with four months still remaining before the 2025 church budget is adopted.

Wellington has supported more than 30 organizations and programs in addition to the Bring Chicago Home campaign and the Voter Education Drive.

The endowment fund has earned about $500,000 so far this year, so there is money to share without depleting the endowment.

Therefore, the Outreach Committee joins the Endowment Committee in unanimously offering and recommending a positive vote on the following resolution:

Be it moved that Wellington U.C.C. support the Endowment Committee’s proposal that an additional $50,000 be made available to the Outreach Committee in 2024
(with $10,000 of those funds to be allocated by the Immigrant Justice Task Force).

37 days until the Presidential Election – don’t delay!

Join Wellington’s 2024 Citizen Education Drive, because voting is faith in action.

All the postcards are now on their way – over 3,500 from Wellington!

Operation Swing State is organizing voters from Illinois to make a difference in Wisconsin and Michigan, which are key states.
