THIS SUNDAY!
We welcome guest preacher
Rev. Michelle Hughes
to our digital pulpit!
Currently serving as the Designated Associate Conference Minister for Chicago Metropolitan & Fox Valley Associations, Rev. Hughes is a specialist in Congregational Revitalization. She holds a wealth of knowledge and experience, having served in a variety of settings.

Why are we having a guest preacher?
Because Ann-Louise will be away on retreat!
It’s part of her participation in the Nevertheless She Preached cohort this year! (Click on the link to learn more about her program.)
She is in the Social Weaver cohort – you can learn more about the avian namesake of the group here!

A new weekly offering to keep our hearts, minds, and actions aligned with the people of Palestine.

God of Justice, we pray for the safety and release of all the Flotilla participants. Through their attempt to break the siege on Gaza, illuminate to the world the oppressive conditions that Palestinians suffer, whether in Gaza or in Israeli prisons across the West Bank. And through the steadfastness of those who stand for humanity, remind us that so long as there is oppression, we must not grow weary in our struggle. Lord, embolden us with the same courage and give us faith like a mustard seed so that our actions bring change.
Lord in your mercy…hear our prayer.

Nick Guetterman did a great job presenting the September Helping Hands for playOut! If you missed it, you can still give until October 18th!
- playOUT! has been amplifying queer voices in classical music since 2018. We’re proud to announce that we are now an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
- Our mission is to uplift and celebrate LGBTQIA+ artistry in classical music.
- Through powerful performances, commissioned works, and meaningful community partnerships, we’re creating space for queer voices to thrive — not just on stage, but in the cultural fabric of our society.
- 25% of our concert proceeds goes directly to organizations that share our values of equity, inclusion, and artistic empowerment
- First landmark event: November 15, 2025 titled “Heavy” surrounds topics of mental health in the queer community, and will feature a new commissioned work by transgender composer Devin Clara Fanslow

On Monday we got word that the Supreme Court decided NOT to reconsider hearing Apache Stronghold’s case. While this decision is deeply disappointing, the fight to protect Oak Flat is far from over. See below:
Dear Oak Flat Supporters:
We write to you with heavy yet hopeful hearts, calling upon people of all faiths to join in prayerful solidarity with the Western Apache at a perilous moment. Even as we see the Supreme Court turning their back, we pray for three other legal cases in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Their courage and persistence is a reminder that the defense of the sacred is ongoing collective work.
We write to you as faith leaders who have been in service of protecting ChiChil Bildagotell, Oak Flat, to specifically to ask you to watch and share the livestream of an upcoming vigil at Oak Flat. A delegation of multi-denominational Faith Leaders from across Turtle Island have been invited to join Apache Stronghold at Oak Flat, holding a vigil on Monday Oct. 13, Indigenous Peoples’ Day, at 1:00 pm AZ Time/4:00 pm ET.
