A new weekly offering to keep our hearts, minds, and actions aligned with the people of Palestine.

Last week, the UN Security Council voted in favor of a US-drafted resolution that endorses US President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan for Gaza. Critics of the resolution have argued that there is little clarity about the key mechanisms’ composition, that it does not ensure the participation of the UN, it fails to explicitly reiterate a firm commitment to a Palestinian state, and Palestinians have no say in their own political future.

God of the oppressed, we are thankful that mass killing has slowed down and at the same time, we know that peace cannot come without true justice and accountability. Help us to be present where you are located, amidst the marginalized and the oppressed. In doing so, we ask for the wisdom and strength of the Holy Spirit to confront all colonial tactics that further entrench injustice. We pray that international law and human rights will be upheld for all.
Lord in your mercy…hear our prayer.

The Trump administration couldn’t perpetrate a sustained attack on our communities without support from corporations who contract with them for services and infrastructure. We are holding AT&T accountable and demanding they end the harmful practice of multi million-dollar contracts with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). When we refuse to buy or upgrade any AT&T products or plans this holiday season until AT&T stops contracting with ICE, we make it more costly for them to provide services to agencies harming our communities. ICE is terrorizing our communities; their actions harm all of us.

Say NO to AT&T until they stop contracting ICE by signing this petition, and stand against the Trump administration and AT&T.

The memorial service for Deb Lee’s sister, Dottie Webster, will take place at 11am on Saturday, November 29th at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Edgewater (1500 W. Elmdale).
