🌞 The weather forecast is looking good, and parking (& bathrooms!) are nearby
at Belmont Harbor.

Things to bring:
– a water bottle!
– a blanket or chair to sit on
– a potluck dish to share.

We’ll have a few tables set up for everyone.

This map gives directions for those coming from the north. Exit Lake Shore Drive at Belmont, turn LEFT towards the lake, go under Lake Shore Drive and then turn RIGHT towards the Belmont Harbor parking lot. The yellow star shows where we’ll be – same spot as the past few years.

This map gives directions for those coming from the south. Exit Lake Shore Drive at Belmont, turn RIGHT towards the lake, and immediately turn RIGHT again towards the Belmont Harbor parking lot. Make sure you don’t end up on the bike path! The yellow star shows where we’ll be – same spot as the past few years.

Now that we’re moved into First Church, it’s time to settle in! Check out our pamphlet on next steps, including coordinating times for unpacking all those boxes in the basement!

Brenda Friedman, Andrew  & Ann-Louise will be unpacking again this Tuesday, July 29th – and Kryss Chupp is hosting another session after church on Sunday, August 3rd.
Come join in the fun!

You may be feeling helpless or overwhelmed by the constant reports of brutality by ICE – and that’s part of their intent!

Keep your heart open, and keep speaking up!

Here are 3 simple actions you can do to
support our neighbors who are under attack.

In the summer of 2022, Wellington paid for Rubi
to be one of the lead interns in our
Inaugural WILD summer program, led by Debbie Southorn.

In the summer of 2024, Rubi was part of the group of
Dissenters that received financial support
from Wellington to travel to the Philippines.

This summer, Rubi is advocating for two Filipino green card holders who’ve been detained by ICE – Tito E, and Tita R (who’s 71!) Click on their names to sign their petitions and learn how to support them.

This is how we help raise the next generation of peacemakers!

As people of faith, we are called to welcome the stranger and believe that everyone should be treated with respect and compassion. Separating families and detaining immigrants in unsanitary living conditions is a policy which rejects the dignity of our immigrant siblings, while lining the pockets of the private prison system and dictators abroad.  Fight these attacks on our immigrant communities today!

Gladis is an organizer with OCAD – Organized Communities Against Deportation – which receives financial support from Wellington and is also a member of the Sanctuary Working Group. Gladis is a dedicated organizer and member of the community – please support her family, if you can.

The table is full for

July’s Last Supper –

but Kryss Chupp is hosting

in August!

RSVPs will open next week.

The Christian Century featured TWO articles about Oak Flat in their latest issue!
In Apache Stronghold’s rooted resistance, Tim Nafzier argues that the fight to protect Oak Flat is not just about a single holy site. It is about recovering our bond with the land.
The editors, writing in The Desecration of Oak Flat, remind us that idolatry doesn’t usually work out well for any of us.

Don’t miss this stunning exhibit
