Thank you to everyone who helped with the boxes and lecterns last Sunday! There’s still plenty to unpack and sort through at the church, so just email or text the office if you’d like to stop by this month.  Andrew is available to let you in, except for the following dates: 8/30.

A book club report from Claudette:

“We had a very deep and thought provoking discussion this past Saturday on Small Boat by Vincent Delacroix. I encourage you all to read this book if you haven’t. It is a short read but takes you deep into the nature of humanity and our reckoning with the treatment of migrants across the globe. Small Boat was shortlisted for the International Booker Prize 2025.

Our upcoming book for September is Aging as a Spiritual Practice: A Contemplative Guide to Growing Older and Wiser by Lewis Richmond. This book was recommended by Pastor Ann-Louise in one of our Coffee Talks while having a discussion around aging with grace. We would like the September Book Club to be a church-wide event and invite each of you to get a copy of this book so you can join in on the discussion which will be facilitated by Ann-Louise.”

Save the date: Saturday, September 20th, at 10am on Zoom will be our next book club meeting!

This week, Kryss Chupp gave us some good news regarding Oak Flat: a federal injunction has temporarily halted the land transfer to Resolution Copper! From Apache Stronghold:

“We received notification that a federal judge is stopping the Oak Flat land exchange from transferring sacred land to a mega-mining corporation. This sixty-day emergency injunction will allow the court time to review several of the ongoing lawsuits challenging Resolution Copper from destroying this land forever.”
